Love Your Clothes

Zero Waste Scotland approached me last year to help them articulate their community messages - for their Love Your Clothes campaign - both in visual form and on the ground talking to real people !

For the following year I was a "Love Your Clothes" Ambassador alongside Shirley McLauchlan and Angharad McLaren. Together we worked as consultants to give shape to a training pack which will be used in communities to promote pro-environmental behaviour change with regards to clothing.

These issues are very close to my heart as I had previously been working for 5 years in my own community running swishing and sewing events.

The communication packs are designed as a tool to get people talking about their relationship to clothing.

  • buying choices
  • repair and laundry
  • end of life disposal methods including creative re-use.

The packs work a treat ! Most of the time we can't get people to stop talking. As a consequence, we created a 'design your own information pack' allowing participants to jot down useful tips and information to share in their own communities.

A very rewarding project indeed !
